Slicing an onion is like ripping off a bandaid. You need to do it quickly and swiftly, else you’ll only end up in tears.
If you approach an onion with a method, I can assure you. No more tears.
Step 1: Slice the onion in half.
Step 2 : Cut off the top and the bottom bits, and remove the outermost onion shell.
Step 3: Lay down the onion half face down, and start slicing it lengthwise. Like so.
If you need to chop it, just rotate it by another 90 degrees and give it a go.
