As the world agrees, there is no such thing as ‘Too much Chocolate’.
These cookies are crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and have hidden molten bits of chocolate chips in secret locations throughout the cookie.
A bite into this cookie is an overdose of chocolate in every bite, and some more.
Tell me you’re not tempted.
As I know you are extremely tempted, I shall be the bigger person (literally) and let you in on the recipe of these delectable Double Chocolate Cookies.
Double Chocolate Cookies
Serves : 1 chocoholic/ 12 people who dislike chocolate (Ha! As if such people exist)
Difficulty : A tad bit tricky. But if you can boil Pasta and don’t cut yourself while chopping vegetables, go ahead please.
Preparation Time : 10-15 minutes.
Cook Time : 20-25 minutes
Ingredients
- 100 grams of cold butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 and 1/4 cup flour (maida)
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup chocolate chips
As we always do, we flag off with the cold butter and sugar.
(Don’t forget to Preheat the oven. 160 degrees, 10-15 minutes. Go, go. Set it now.)
Beat it for 3-4 minutes till its smooth and creamy and delicious.
Break in an egg.
Follow that in with the dark delicious cocoa powder.
And beat the batter till its all incorporated and chocolaty.
(Just smell/taste batter. There shouldn’t be an egg-y taste. If there is, drop in some more cocoa powder till there isn’t. Or better yet, add a few drops (3-4) of vanilla essence in it.)
Now, dump in the flour and the baking powder.
Fold it in the chocolate-butter mixture. And add in the chocolate chips.
Mix it till forms a consistent batter. Roll it into little balls. Flatten slightly and place on the baking sheet, on top of a greased butter paper. Make sure the cookies are a few centimeters apart, and not sticking too close together.
Bake in oven at 180 degrees C, for 20-22 minutes.
Let them cool on the rack for another 15 minutes or so, it is then when they get extra crispy.
Once cooled down, there is little you can do other than GO NUTS.
Then take a couple more in each hand, bite a leisurely bite.
Watch the molten chocolate chip ooze out.
Give out a content sigh.
There a few more double chocolate cookies left for you to eat, what can possibly be wrong with the world?

Hey ashmita,
Cud u help me out a bit? How to make these without eggs?
You can substitute 1 egg for (1-1/2 tablespoons baking powder + 1-1/2 tablespoons warm water + 1-1/2 tablespoons oil). It should work, though I’ve not tried it in this myself.
and 1 more doubt… u mentioned baking powder in your ingredients… but haven’t really used it anywhere…
Apologies. Had missed it out. Made the necessary change. Thanks!
